The best issue of the first edition with an additional 20 pages of content not previously included, "Of these, by far the most important is the record which appears on pp. lxxxi-ix of this Volume [1]" (verso of the title page). This being a landmark publication for telepathy, hypnotism, dreams, hallucinations, witches, and ghosts; published by the Society for Psychical Research which was founded only four years prior. Three-quarter morocco over blue cloth boards. Raised bands in six compartments; gilt stamping and fillets on spine, rubbed at the edges. Marbled endpapers with slight residue tear to the front free endpaper of volume 1; foxing on fore-edge. Text is clean with minor foxing. Inscribed on fly leaf in both volumes by "David M.
